Global Goats

Goat population in the world is over 450 million, with over 2 million goats in the United States. They are an important part of the economy of many nations; producing milk, meat and fiber. Some areas utilize herds in an environmentally sound way to clear rough terrain to reduce fire hazard in those areas. Their gregarious nature has endeared them to many as companion animals and many jurisdictions have ordinances allowing the small breed goats to be kept as pets within the city limits.
